Basic XNA 4 3D Game Engine Tutorial
« on: October 10, 2012, 06:09:51 PM »
I would like to share with everyone about my completed first part of my series on building a basic 3D game engine using XNA 4. The first two chapters were published in Software Developer Journal http://sdjournal.org/ in the Game Gems issues published last July. You can download it from my web site, in the downloads section. I include the project source code, and all assets used in the tutorial. My mate created most of the artwork I use, she is the best.
I know how hard it is to find a good game tutorial that actually has you make something you can use later, such as a game engine. So I decided to create one myself. It is simple, it has only minimal physics, velocity and acceleration, and basic effects. However in following books, I will expand on it. I have a saying, start simple, and strong.
I will publish this as an ebook on Amazon in the near future as well.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to contact me.
